There is no hard evidence showing that baking soda kills bed bugs. Baking soda is purported to eliminate bed bugs by way of dehydration. While this might work as a temporary answer to your bed bug problem, it will not be able to tackle decent-sized infestations.

How Does Baking Soda Stop Bed Bugs?
There is no actual proof that baking soda is an effective bed bug control product. Baking soda is supposed to work by breaking down and absorbing the fluids found on bed bug shells, causing them to become dehydrated. The small baking soda granules are also supposed to cut into the bed bugs’ shells. Even if this works against a handful of bed bugs, it will not shut down a large outbreak.

There are many other at-home treatment options that are meant to control bed bugs, but how do you know which ones will be successful?
